Dedicated to preserving the music and history of the beginning and early years of Rock & Roll!

LISTEN LIVE NOW

OUR MISSION

The Oldies Preservation Society immediate mission is to keep all these great songs from the early years of rock on the radio in the Spokane area. We at O.P.S. believe that preserving the music of yesterday is essential for the radio listeners of today and tomorrow.

To help accomplish our mission, for many years we solicited donations on radio station KOOL 107.1FM to help expand our membership and raise financial support through regular Pledge Drives. All this was done to help O.P.S. fulfill our goal of someday owning and operating our own radio station.

That goal is now in the process of being realized, as O.P.S. is now working in partnership with Eastern Washington University to manage (and soon to buy) their 89.5FM radio station.
As of October 1, 2025, KOOL Oldies are now being broadcast to a much larger audience on 89.5!

O.P.S. will continue to work hard to preserve and promote oldies music through various media platforms including broadcast, print and social media. Our organization provides educational resources to help people learn about the history of oldies music and the artists who created it. We also work to sustain the future of oldies music by sponsoring events, promoting marketing campaigns, and delivering informative content related to oldies music and artists through email newsletters and printed materials to our members.

Our Team

Meet the people who make the magic happen.

BECOME A VOLUNTEER

Giving the gift of time is a valuable way to contribute to our cause at the OPS Volunteer Team. We welcome volunteers who are at least 16 years old and possess qualities such as motivation, teamwork, organization, efficiency, and excellent communication skills.

Our volunteers all share a love for KOOL music and a passion for the mission of the Oldies Preservation Society: to preserve the music from the first decades of rock and educate the public about the many great songs and artists from those early years. If you share the same passion, we encourage you to apply to become a volunteer team member today!

The first step is to complete a Volunteer Application. After you have submitted your application, OPS will review it and contact you to schedule an initial phone interview. If you have any additional questions or need more information, please do not hesitate to contact us via email using the Contact form on our website.
